Youth Empowerment

World’s population comprises of nearly 25% of young people, whereas Pakistan’s population consists of 60% youth. This youth bulge represents a tremendous window of demographic dividend for Pakistan. Nonetheless, we are challenged when it comes to capitalizing on this dividend. We witness our youth doing wonders with a little support. Social initiatives and welfare projects in a variety of areas including healthcare, education and financial services are led by them on a broad spectrum which shows the compassion, passion, and potential they hold. If only nurtured and provided a platform for them to be empowered, they can certainly rise and shine to make Pakistan thrive.

Envision Pakistan aims to provide a platform for researchers, counselors, and coaches with the tools and capabilities required to mentor our youth and eventually ignite the spark to contribute in shaping a better and prosperous society for the collective good. We believe that efforts to lay strong foundations for character building and setting a clear direction for them can truly transform our nation.

Empowering youth calls for trusting their abilities, and giving them space to flourish as productive elements of society. Absence of a clear strategy in this regard has resulted in confusion and uncertainty among this segment of our population. A decline in education standards and limited career choices has placed them in a difficult situation. Although the new avenues of career as freelancing opportunities in digital world, a trend of entrepreneurship, and start-up initiatives have helped, the lack of employment opportunities is still the most crushing challenge faced by young population in Pakistan. Especially, a sense of deprivation growing among the youth of backward areas and marginalized communities nurtured by the lack of direction as a nation has rendered them a generation of emotionally unstable people with tunneled vision. An overall identity crisis among youth not only caused them to be fragmented but also acted as a catalyst in promoting extremism. Pseudo right and left approaches have engaged their potential, which if nurtured for set national objectives, could be turned into our most valuable asset. Resultantly, many of the young lot start seeing their future outside the country in search of peace and better opportunities.
